AMMBC is an affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council. The mission of AMMBC is to promote the development of business opportunities between minority business enterprises (MBEs), corporations, and government agencies in Arkansas and Mississippi. AMMBC undertakes a number of activities to accomplish its mission, including:
certification of MBEs
facilitation of business and contract opportunities between minority vendors and the business community;
MBE needs assessments and training workshops;
networking opportunities, including an annual Business Opportunity Trade Fair;
technical assistance referrals to MBEs provided at no charge; and
advocacy efforts for MBEs with government and private industry.
AMMBC is a membership organization that matches corporate and private sector buyers with qualified minority suppliers. Our corporate membership is made up of good corporate citizens representing 300 of the Fortune 500 companies, as well as minority businesses representing most major NAIC codes that seek to work with the public and private sectors. These corporations utilize certified MBEs because it helps their buyers to report expenditures as well as vendor utilization rates - measures of performance and progress in evaluating a minority supplier development program.
AMMBC is governed by an independent, volunteer board of directors comprised of corporate and minority business executives who share a common goal: the creation and expansion of business opportunities, increased access to education and technical support, and financial assistance to provide traditionally underserved and underutilized communities with a chance at building wealth.
